Since 1957, Park Playhouse and the Southwest Iowa Theater Group (SWITG) has brought the excitement of community theater to Southwest Iowa with quality productions ranging from drama and intrigue to comedy and musicals. As an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization, Park Playhouse is theatre of and for the community, with an energy only you can supply. Park Playhouse offers opportunities for individuals with or without formal theatre backgrounds to get involved, either on stage or behind the scenes. During the 2006-2007 season, the SWITG celebrated it’s Golden Celebration. The theater group reprised five shows from the last five decades. The general membership and a Golden Celebration committee selected the following shows to represent our first five decades of excellence: 1957-1966 THE KIND LADY (October 2007) 1967-1976 BAREFOOT IN THE PARK (April 2007) 1977-1986 FIDDLER ON THE ROOF (February 2007) 1987-1996 THE SOUND OF MUSIC (July 2007) 1997-2006 YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN (Nov 2006) |
